Challenge Complete: Charity Reading Challenge

Charity Reading Challenge
Host: Becky's Book Reviews
Duration: January 2016-December 2016
 # of books: You decide! Though Becky suggests a minimum of 4 books.

This year Becky put together a reading challenge to support charity. We were challenged to purchase books at charity book shops or our friends of the library sales and/or donate a certain amount of money for each book read.
As I mentioned in my sign-up post, I get a great number of my used books from our Friends of the Library [FoL] used book shop and their twice yearly sales as well as the Red Cross (now Hoosier Hills) Book Fair. I set my goal for at least 12 books from the Friends of the Library and said that I would also record each time I indulge my book habit there in 2016. I will also add in my usual book-binge at the Fall Community Book Fair sponsored by the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. I thought it be interesting to see how much I've given towards the library and other charities in one year. I've never kept track before.
I have now read the twelve charity-purchase books for the challenge, so I have completed my reading commitment. I have also managed to control my book-spending habit and spent only $16.06 in a mere three trips to the Friends of the Library bookstore. [I'm normally dropping a few dollars every week...] Of course, their spring clearance sale will be coming up in late March or early April and there's always the Fall with the second clearance sale and the Community Book Fair. I plan to keep tracking my charity book purchases for the rest of the year.

I love Maisie too but I haven't read past this one yet. Like you I was starting to feel frustrated at her lack of decision re James. I want Maisie to mature.
